eWeek: Startup Zenoss Takes On Enterprise Management Giants

Paula Musich of eWeek wrote a good article on Friday titled,”Startup Zenoss Takes on Enterprise Giants“. Everyone loves a good David and Goliath story. Even though Zenoss Core offers many of the same monitoring functions that you might get from BMC PATROL or Tivoli Monitoring there’s another angle that shouldn’t be overlooked. Zenoss brings enterprise-class monitoring to those who didn’t have access to that level of tool in the past either due to complexity or cost. That’s why we say that Zenoss Core is easy, open and complete.  I love the story of Stephen Ames who has a company called Managed Web Services who is monitoring his customers systems with Zenoss, and doing so at a price many orders of magnitude less expensively then if he would have gone with a Big 4 system.
