Welcome to the October edition of the Zenoss Newsletter. This month Zenoss Core 2.1 shipped. Thank you to everyone who participated in the beta to make this one of our most successful releases ever. We also need your help to start planning for Zenoss Core 2.2. Your input in our product survey will help give direction for future versions.So without further adieu here’s the news that’s fit to print.

Zenoss Core 2.1 Now Available

Zenoss Core 2.1 was released this month and there are a lot of great new features to check out. This version adds a Google Maps mashup, a network topology map, Java application management, powerful graphing capabilities and an Ajax-based drag and drop dashboard.

ZenPacks – The way to extend Zenoss Core

In version 2.0 of Zenoss Core we introduced ZenPacks as the way to extend Zenoss Core. Now we have created a place for you to find out how to author and contribute ZenPacks to share with other Zenoss users. This month we are also offering Zenoss golf shirts to the first ten users who contribute ZenPacks - hurry, Trevor, Eric, and Wouter have already submitted their ZenPacks.

Mercy Keeps Systems Alive With Zenoss

Mercy experienced explosive growth over the past five years and it has tripled its investment in technology. Mercy IT had to scale to support over 200 unique applications running on approximately 200 servers with new technology solutions such as storage and bandwidth intensive digital x-ray solutions as well as transaction intensive electronic health records.
