This was a big month for product releases at Zenoss. Version 2.3 was released and has been well received across the board. Zenoss Enterprise 2.3 includes enhanced Java and Windows monitoring as well as hot new virtualization management features. Zenoss Core 2.3 includes the release of a native installer for Mac OS X. You can download Zenoss Core for all platforms or you can request an evaluation of Zenoss Enterprise featuring newly improved VMware management, a first of its kind feature allowing users to monitor and correlate metrics from the virtual machines and the hardware hosting them.

Tip of the Month: MySQL to InnoDB

In a recent blog post, Zenoss Community member Scott Haskell pointed to an entry he had made in the Zenoss wiki for How to Convert MySQL to use InnoDB Tables. This would prove useful if you had initially installed Zenoss with MySQL configured for another engine like MyISAM, probably from a source build.
