Talking Cloud with Cote – Part 1

April 6 2011 | By | in Unified Monitoring

In preparation for our upcoming webinar, Building the Cloud, I sat down with Michael Cote, from Red Monk, to get an experts view of what’s going on. The plan was to have a short discussion but once we got started we ended up talking for close to 30 minutes. Michael had a lot of good information to share so I split the discussion into two to make it more manageable.

Here’s what we cover during the first half of the interview:

  • Pragmatic Cloud Computing
  • Service oriented architecture (SOA) and the hype cycle – “Big Gigantic Awesomeness”
  • Self-service and automation
  • Price as a Driver
  • The Cloud as an enabler for rapid feedback

Will post the second half shortly. Enjoy!
